Himachal Pradesh is one of the most picturesque northern state sharing its boundary with states of Jammu and Kashmir in the north, Punjab in the west to Uttrakhand in the south with Shimla as its capital.

This state is filled with snow capped mountains, scenic landscapes, clear and serene lakes and cheerful people. Host to the Dalai Lama, Himachal Pradesh has a strong Tibetan presence. This is reflected in its Buddhist temples and monasteries.
With alpine pastures, thick forests and rivers cutting through the deep gorges, this state calls the tourists for an adventure tour with a lot of thrilling activities that induce an adrenaline rush.
Dalhousie
This is a hill station situated in the lap of Himalayas. Dauladhar range is clearly visible at a distance. This is a place to unwind yourself and love the natures paradise. This town was used as a summer retreat for the British and thus has a rich colonial architecture and home to some beautiful churches. This place always remains cool even during summers, thus attracting lot of travellers. People are very friendly and helpful.
Tibetan culture surrounding this wonderful town makes it even more exotic and serene destination. There are many cafes and bakeries surrounding the Mall road. This is also the starting place for many spell bounding treks. Situated far from the buzzing cities in the country, this peaceful town transports you to a pollution-free environment in the lap of nature.
By Air: Pathankot is the nearest airport situated about 90 kilometres from Dalhousie. This airport is not so well connected with other cities as this is basically a military airport. So the best way to get to Dalhousie is to land in Delhi and then take a rented car or SUV to reach Dalhousie. Delhi is about 565 kilometres away from Dalhousie and it takes about 11 hours to reach there.
By Rail : Pathankot is the nearest railway station situated about 90 kilometres from Dalhousie and frequent trains are available from Delhi to Pathankot. Buses and private taxis are readily available from Pathankot to Dalhousie.
By Road : Dalhousie is well connected by motor-able roads with major cities of northern India. Buses are available to Dalhousie from ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Delhi. Buses and taxis are also available from Pathankot as well as other parts of Himachal Pradesh.
Grand View Hotel: This hotel is situated at an ideal location just besides the Dalhousie Bus Stand. The rooms are all well maintained with all the amenities available. The view of Dauladhar range is clearly visible at a distance. They have a garden and a seating lounge facing the mountains. The restaurant serves some lips smacking delicacies and the buffet is wide spread out. The staff is well behaved and helpful.
Alps Resort Dalhousie: This hotel is situated about 2 kilometres from the Dalhousie Bus Stand. The rooms are all well maintained with all the amenities available. They have a tree house in the garden that looks amazing. The restaurant is also serves good food. The staff is nice and co-operative.
Mongas, Hotel and Resort: This Hotel is located near Gandhi Chowck market. Rooms are nice but smaller in size. Food is tasty and nice. Rooms are neat and clean with available amenities.
Chamera Lake: This lake takes about two hours drive from Dalhousie. The lake is picturesque situated amidst hills. Boating facility is available. The water in the Lake recedes during summers and is dirty in surroundings.
Ganji Pahari: This hill offers a complete panoramic view of the Dalhousie and the Himalayan range. Trekking is required to climb up the hill and this hill is devoid of any vegetation.
Panjpulla: Located about 2 kilometres from Gandhi Chowck, Panjpulla is an okay destination to spend some time. Basically, it’s a place with a small waterfall right at the top, with water trickling down in small, little streams jutting out of big rocks strewn around. There are some adventure activities like Burma Bridge and Zipping. There is Bounce House and a trampoline for kids as well.
St. John’s Church: Very old and Nice Church located in a peaceful and serene area. Good for prayer and is easily accessible from Gandhi Chowck.
McLoedGanj
This is a small and quiet town, situated about 12 kilometres from Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India at an elevation of 2,082 metres (6,831 feet). Situated in the lap of Dhauladhar Range, a branch of the southern outer Himalayas. The village is named after Lord David McLeod, who founded it in 1848.
This is the residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and home to a large Tibetan population. This place attracts thousands of international visitors, many of them volunteering with the Tibetan community, taking courses in Buddhism, meditation or yoga, trekking in the Dhauladhar mountains, shopping for Tibetan handicrafts.
By Air: The nearest airport to McLoedGanj is Gaggal Airport, located about 13 km away from Dharamshala. Though the number of aeroplanes operating there are limited. Taxis are readily available from the airport to McLoedGanj.
By Rail: Pathankot is the nearest railway station situated about 110 kilometres from McLoedGanj and frequent trains are available from Delhi to Pathankot. Private Taxis are readily available from Pathankot to McLoedGanj.
By Road: McLoedGanj is well connected by motor-able roads with major cities of northern India. Buses are available up to Dharamshala from ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Delhi. Buses and taxis are also available from Pathankot as well as other parts of Himachal Pradesh.
Hotel Holiday Hill: This hotel is situated at an ideal location close to Mall Road, spacious and clean rooms with all the amenities. Staff is very helpful. Restaurant serves very good food. Must try the lips making Poha. Free Wi-Fi and parking space is also available.
The Pink House: This hotel has amazing view, Staff are very helpful and rooms are neat and clean as well as spacious with all the amenities. The place is very close to the McLoedGanj market and all the restaurants had balcony with an amazing view of the snow-capped mountains.
The Posh Hotel: This hotel is close to HH Dalai Lama temple. Spacious and clean rooms with great hospitality with all the amenities. The view from balcony and rooms are amazing. The food is nice and good.
Bhagsu Falls: This falls is situated besides the Bhagsu temple. Requires a bit of trekking. A calm and peaceful place, though in summers the falls becomes just a small stream. A nice place to visit.
Namgyal Monastery: The Namgyal Monastery is situated within the Tsuglagkhang complex. This complex also is the residence of HH Dalai Lama, the calm atmosphere of this place is serene with spectacular view of the Dhauladhar Range.
Naddi Village: This is about 12 kilometres from McLoedGanj and situated between serene mountains. The serene beauty of mountains brings the traveller closer to the nature. A meditation centre is located there where a traveller can learn meditation.
Shopping and Cafes: Many cafes and bakeries are in the Mall Road. There are many Tibetan handicrafts showrooms to pick your mementoes.
Khajjiar
Khajjiar is a hill station in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, India, located approximately 24 kilometres from Dalhousie. This hill station is surrounded by meadows and forests. It is about 6,500 feet (2,000 m) above sea level in the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges of the Western Himalayas and peaks can be seen in the distance.
Khajjiar sits on a small plateau with a small stream-fed lake in the middle that has been covered over with weeds. It is also known as Mini Switzerland for its beauty. Surrounded by deodar trees this place is a small plateau with the backdrop of Dhauladhar range.

Hotel Devdar: Run by HPTDC, this is the best hotel to stay in Khajjiar. The rooms are neat and clean with all the amenities and staff is very helpful. With good food and amazing view of the Khajjiar plains, this is the place to stay. Beware of Monkeys.
Khajjiar Plains: Enjoy the Khajjiar plains, there are various activities available for kids. Traveller can also go in for paragliding. Many eateries are available surronding the Khajjiar plains.
